Located on a bank overlooking the River Perry, this grotto was built in the 1980s as part of a garden landscaping. The Zanzibar roof construction comprises wooden poles with overlaying concrete. The walls are of local stone. In the floor of the grotto there are Shekels, Israeli coins, set in the concrete. The walls are decorated with Zanzibar shells and there is an ornamental stone head at the rear together with a small gravestone to one side. Nearby a manikin woman named Lydia guards the terraced garden and there is a stone flasher gnome catching the attention of a naked goddess. This is all the creation of the owners, Roger and Yoland Brown who also run Bed and Breakfast accommodation.
