CRIMEAN CANNONS - WHERE ARE THEY NOW?Cabot Tower Brandon Hill Park Great George Street, Harbourside Bristol BS1 5RR Cabot Tower is a 32 metre high tower in Bristol, England, situated in a public park on Brandon Hill, between the city centre, Clifton and Hotwells. It is a grade II listed building. Picture right - the Crimean Cannon at the foot of the tower. Bristol's Cabot Tower was built in 1897 to celebrate the 4th centenary of John Cabot's voyage from Bristol to mainland America. The tower is 105 ft tall. You can walk up stone steps to the top of the tower and see wonderful panoramic views of Bristol and out towards the Mendips. The tower is situated on Brandon Hill, just off Park Street. Brandon Hill is Bristol's oldest park and a great location to escape the noise and bustle of the city. Access to the top of the tower would be very difficult, probably impossible to disabled people. 
There was once two Russian cannon's, captured during the Crimean War at the foot of the tower, however these were removed for metal recycling during WW2.
