Spastones are reputed to have mystic qualities that are bestowed upon the wearer. Select the gemstone of the current astrological month and wear it to test and enjoy its paranormal powers. Many of the supposed beneficial effects of gemstones are not directly explainable by our limited knowledge of the physical world. Crystaline structures can collect, focus and emit electro-magnetic forces. Marcel Vogel, the Nobel prize-winning scientist and one of the early pioneers of silicon chip technology conducted extensive studies on the measurement of energy fields around crystals. He also carried out some interesting research for IBM which demonstrated that crystals could not only be programmed electronically as silicon chips are, but could be programmed by using nothing more than thought. Science in the future may well discover the mechanisms that enable natural minerals to transmogrify life energy. Click the star sign for a picture of the spastone of the month,

Before the development of chemistry as a discipline alchemy and iatrochemistry (medical chemistry) sought to identify and explain the properties of rocks and minerals. These ancient diciplines sought to discover how life was created and how to treat illness. Many minerals were used in the preparation of medicines.
The stones used in this table are identified from historic research sources and may not necessarily accord with modern notions. The properties suggested are based on modern practice and beliefs but are not necessarily proven by scientific study.
