In a ceremony performed on 16 February 1991, Rt. Hon. John Major MP inaugurated a replica gun memorial made of fibreglass, modelled on the Ely Cannon. Unfortunately it was vandalised immediately after the unveiling but has since been restored.

The original Russian gun was lost to WWII scrap. Known as ref. 19128, this gun is recorded by the National Inventory of War Memorials at the Imperial War Museum. Grid. ref. TL 233 717.
